Looking for Love
Last week I opened a conversation regarding a reader’s question: “How do I get him to commit?”
In that article I suggested that maybe a better question is “How do I find a man that wants to be in a committed relationship?”
Here are a couple of ideas to ponder:
1. The starting place is this: Know what you want.
Sometimes I feel like a bit of a broken record going on about this, but if there is one thing I know for sure it is this: You can’t have what you want if you don’t know what it is.
An ideal starting point is where you are clear on what kind of commitment you want, and what kind of person you want to make that commitment to, in as much detail as possible.
Even if this sounds simplistic, I assure you that getting clear on what you want can be anything but simple.
When the pen hits the paper there is often confusion, fear, indecisiveness, and all manner of excuses and mental arguments that crop up. Work through the pollution of negative thoughts and take the time to get some clarity.
In my experience, when you are able to get super clear on what you want, it will show up.
2. Non-resistance (aka: not being attached to the outcome)
Many people I know found their soulmate when they let go of seeing every new friend as a potential mate and just made an intention to find more friends instead. I attribute this to non-resistance.
And yes, it is possible to form friendships while still owning the desire to be in a committed relationship.
You do want to be friends with the person you eventually commit to, right? So a friendship is a great place to start.
Don’t be hesitant to let your friends know that you are looking for the right person, and that when you find them you want to be in a committed relationship.
…
These two pointers not only apply to this topic, but to any other thing that you want to create in your life as well.
Get clear about what you want, relax and find the path of least resistance, and you’ll be well on your way.
Trust the process! You are a powerful creator!

Great advice: getting clear about what you want.
Thank you Kathy! I find that taking the time to get really clear on anything is also a terrific stress reducing action! 🙂 So appreciate you reading.
